For our BusBot prototype we had to take into account such factors as cost and user proficiency. In reality, the pager would have to be very cost-effective; if a user lost it, it would not be like losing a cell phone. It would therefore rely on older hardware without the need for expensive, cutting-edge technology. Also, we had to make sure that less skilled users, such as those with limited language or reading skills, could understand the user interface of the Pager.
For the online account and mapping system, we had to meet web standards. For the proposed Firefox plugin, we would have to follow the proper procedure to make it a part of the Extensions & Add-ons section of the Mozilla website.
